RYAN SHUMACHER - CO-OWNER
Ryan has been highly involved with the equestrian community for many years. He is a private professional trustee, managing the estates of real estate and business owners, including those in the horse industry. Ryan is also the current Treasurer on the Board of Directors of The Dressage Foundation, the national philanthropic organization for the advancement of the sport of dressage in the U.S.
He is an active co-owner in all aspects of the management of the farm business, and has attended every competition and clinic where Shumacher Farms has been present. Ryan plans to make his own competition debut at training level at some point in the future, and looks forward to continuing to build out the farm facilities and to acquire top prospects for competition and sale in the U.S.
KATIE SHUMACHER - CO-OWNER
Katie Shumacher is an FEI competitor and USDF Silver and Gold medalist residing in California. A lifelong equestrian, Katie has participated in multiple disciplines including the Arabian circuit, saddle seat, reining, jumping and liberty. Her focus has now been on dressage for the past 15 years. As part of her continuing education she has had the opportunity to train with multiple Olympians and dressage veterans including Charlotte Dujardin, Johann Hinnemann, Carly Taylor-Smith, Jan Ebeling, and Mette Rosencrantz. She currently works regularly with Kathleen Raine, a highly decorated equestrian who is located at nearby Adventure Farms.

Katie’s favorite aspect of dressage is taking promising young horses with a solid foundation, and patiently teaching them the nuances of the upper level work to create a confident and happy FEI level horse. She employs this approach on her own personal horses as well as those she trains to match with their next rider.
As a coach, Katie considers each rider-and-horse pair individually to understand their goals and capabilities in order to develop a harmonious and long-lasting partnership.

In 2019, Katie and her husband Ryan added “farm owners” to their resume as they purchased a 5 acre property in Murrieta, CA. They have since developed it into a top quality dressage facility for their own and their clients’ horses with plans to host clinics and other events.
RANGER & FREYA - THE DOGS
Ranger (left) is a relentless ball of energy. He is a German Shepherd, born in December 2019 as part of a litter from our neighboring friends at Hinnemann Farms. He loves chasing, playing, and is in charge of the outdoor facilities at Shumacher Farms. He is the quintessential farm dog and looks forward to exuberantly greeting you!

Freya (right) is a very friendly Bernese Mountain Dog/Golden Retriever mix. She absolutely loves everything about farm life, especially playing with her big brother, Ranger.
